Eligibility: Gap Year Grants

We give up to five Gap Year Grants each year, for up to £500, for projects between school and university.

These Gap Year grants are for applicants from Birmingham. If the available Gap Year grants are not fully allocated by April 1 we will then accept applications from the surrounding area. Enquire by email if there are any vacancies before applying.

Applications open on October 1 for Gap Year projects starting in the following Summer or Autumn.

Nik and the children
In 2018 the Trust awarded a Gap Year Grant to Nik Verweel. Nik spent a year with Project Trust in a rural school in Heilongjiang, China’s most Northern Province.
